Just as the work of a creative genius does not belong only to him who fashioned it, so also perfection and the loving deed do not belong only to the perfect one or the loving one; they are the possession of all. Only to a time blinded by subjectivism could it seem impossible that the merits of the saints are able to benefit their brethren upon earth. |
