Our ability to know (our intellect) and our ability to love/choose (our will) are the two faculties that make us distinctively human. We’ve already seen that we know God by knowing the truth—whether indirectly through the study of God’s creation, or directly through theology or revelation. In the very same way, we love God by choosing what is good and not what is evil—and in that choice, we choose God Himself. |
