They are under no small illusion who consider that they may judge the official teachings of those Jesus has sent to speak in his name but who feel no need to be admonished by confessor or spiritual director. It is not surprising that those who do actually attain the authenticity of heroic virtue are the very ones most attached to the teaching Church and the guidance of her faithful priests. The catalogue of the saints is replete with examples. |
