For now, no expansion beyond this realm is permitted. It is not that man is unable to see more, rather, it is a question of God’s perfect and positive will not to reveal more than this and of man’s obedient will to see no more than what has been revealed to him. That such an existence is convulsed by anxiety should be no surprise. And meanwhile nothing remains but the gentle admonition to resign oneself to this unavoidable anxiety, not to become frantic in the midst of this anxiety but to accept the fate determined by God. |
