Peter goes on to preach a sermon in the precincts of the Temple [in Acts 3], something you don’t do unless you’re licensed by the scribes, the Pharisees, the Sadducees. Yet Peter doesn’t wait for his license because he knows as the Prince of the Apostles he has the power not only to heal, but to proclaim the Gospel in the name of the one who’s now the true High Priest and the New Temple. In Acts chapter 4, he’s put on trial precisely because he dared to preach in the Temple. |
