We don’t like persecution, but God uses persecution, suffering in our life. The Apostles stayed in Jerusalem. Jesus had said wait until you receive the power and then go out. They received the power on Pentecost and didn’t go out, and then Stephen is persecuted and killed in chapter 7. And it says because of the persecution they were scattered, and they went out. They were comfortable and Jesus had to give them a kick in the rear end and get them going. But he does that with us, doesn’t he? Those guys were just like us. |
