The point is this: the holy God of the universe is an infinitely loving Father, but he’s also infinitely knowledgeable, so he knows what we need to be happy. He knows what we must do to be perfect and fulfilled, better than we know it ourselves . . . If we understood that the laws that come to us come from our Father, and they come for our perfection and our fulfillment, I’d discover an area of my life where I’m sinning, and I’d cry out, ‘Have mercy Father, for this one area where my weakness and my willfulness are really preventing me from attaining what you desire for me, and what I need to be perfected and fulfilled as your child.’ |
