Imagine . . . you’re kneeling in the cave where Christ was born. Mary, Jesus, and Joseph lie there, surrounded by silence, each of them in awe of what has just happened. The world has changed. The universe is different. And for the moment, the only people who know are right here, in the quiet of this cave. God has become man, and he is lying here making soft infant sounds.
God gave us imaginations. But how often do we use them when we pray?
For years now, Fr. Mark Toups has been teaching others about imaginative prayer. He refers to it as “a way of praying that allows the Holy Spirit to guide your spiritual senses.”
