Wisdom from Fr. Jerry Gehringer

A saint is somebody who has learned to love God. Learned to love. It’s nothing extremely mystical. It’s that a person really tries to be united to God, to love our Lord with all his heart. To escape from that prison that we find ourselves in sometimes of our personal selfishness and self-centeredness, which we carry with us. In spite of the fact that we have all sorts of shortcomings and sins and so forth, if we are striving to love our Lord with our whole strength, that is a growing in the sanctity of life.
