The Christian ethic is not a collection of laws and commands; it is a Person. God has not given us a series of norms that we must follow. He has given us his own ethic. The same Spirit who moves and motivates God in his actions is now also in us and impels us to live in the same way as God. We cannot complain that God demands things of us that he does not do himself. We have the exact same ethic as he has, because he has given us the Spirit. |
