What does it look like to love God? Maybe it looks like trust. Perhaps trust is human love by another name. In this fallen world, maybe it’s the only way we’re able to love God back. A heart that recklessly trusts in God looks up into the sky and says, ‘Thank you.’ And I wondered if maybe I didn’t need to wait until things become clear to start living. Maybe no one can honestly say in his heart, ‘I believe in God,’ until he has said, ‘Jesus, I trust in you.’ When all else is unclear, only trust can lead you to the same place it took Job: ‘Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him’ (Job 13:15 KJV).
