Wisdom from Scott Hahn, Brant Pitre, and more

Vatican City, the world’s smallest independent state, is home to the bishop of Rome, the pope. The sovereign pontiff is recognized by the world’s over 1 billion Catholics as spiritual father to all Christians. The popes have reigned over the Church for nearly 2,000 years, longer than any other existing institution. Christ himself instituted the papacy precisely as a sign of unity among believers. How deeply ironic that this sign of unity should ever be a cause of division.
