More wisdom from Gerhard Cardinal Müller

Freedom, when it is understood from a Christian perspective, unlike that is proposed by certain philosophers, has as its purpose not only the choice among certain or many possibilities; its essence is the power to choose the good as such, above all God the Father, the source of all that is good. To be free implies an ability to identify ourselves with God, finding the meaning of our life in communion with him. Hope in Jesus, therefore, includes our freely
given reply.
