God is both the source of and reason for hope. Therefore, if we wish to live in hope, we must focus on God, not on our self. If we rely on our own strength in trying to practice hope, sooner or later we will fail and then fall into despair…. In the words of a great Catholicauthor, Fr. Leo Trese, ‘A saint might be described as one who has the utmost distrust of his own strength, and the utmost confidence in God.’ |
