In this life, purity is never acquired once and for all. It requires a gradual and continual shaping of the heart's desires and movements. Those who attempt to practice chastity soon learn that purity doesn't begin to grow until a person realizes that one cannot rely upon human efforts alone. It is not primarily man's work. It is a gift from God. |
